Student Events
Are you a student interested in jump-starting your career in sea turtle biology and conservation? Allow us to help. We are the Student Committee, whose mission is to connect students with their peers, ease introduction into the International Sea Turtle Society, and introduce students and others early in their career to opportunities through education and networking events. Students are key to the future of the International Sea Turtle Society and bring new perspectives to our group. During ISTS43 in Accra, students will benefit from these enlightening events sponsored by the Student Committee:
Student Mixer - 5pm to 6pm Sunday 23rd March
An hour and a half before the Welcome Social, the Omari Hall will open only to students for an hour of introductions and networking. This gives students a chance to meet others at similar career stages and make connections early on in the symposium.
If you would like to continue socializing and networking with all symposium attendants at the same place, please don't forget to purchase the "Welcome Social" ticket.
Student Workshop - 2pm to 5pm Sunday 23rd March
Speed Chatting with Experts - 6:30pm to 8pm Monday 24th March
Peer Evaluations (throughout the Symposium)
Students that request peer evaluation when they submit an abstract will either be visited during their poster session or observed during their oral presentations by a peer - or 3 peers- that will anonymously give feedback on the presentation.
Feedback will be sent after the symposium has concluded.
If you did not check the box upon submission but would like to be evaluated, please email jreavis3@asu.edu.
